In a few hours we will usher in 2012 on the West Coast. Tomorrow I plan to post something rather unusual. In fact, some of my long-time readers are going to wonder if I've taken leave of my senses, possibly. In any case that is how I will start the new year.
I just wanted to take this opportunity to wish for you all a more sane, more satisfying upcoming year than we have had in 2011. As I said I am wishing, crossing my fingers. But as you can probably guess in an election year with the stable of nutters running for the Republican nomination, and forced to consider just how effective Obama can be if he were reelected - well, I'm not going to hold my breath.
May each of you find your own compass and comfort in at least having a better understanding of the process of decline that we are experiencing. No matter what comes in this new year, never give up the good fight.
My best to all.
George
I wish for a year filled with sapience for all of humankind.

And the same to you, Dr. Mobus!

Happy new year :-)
Any predictions? I'm kind of freaked that Ugo Bardi has none.

Selfgovus,
Like Ugo I think the situation is best described as chaos. We can predict a general overall state of things based on trends, like the diminishing availability of energy. But how the microstates are going to work out, no one can say.
I think you should feel uneasy with our general situation.
